HNIT Successfully Hosts the 2025 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing Applications

From April 25 to 28, the 2025 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing Applications (AIRSA 2025), hosted by Hunan Institute of Technology and co-organized by the Hefei Institutes of Physical Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the ESBK International Academic Exchange Center, was held in Changsha. Nearly 100 representatives conducted in-depth discussions on cutting-edge topics in "Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing Applications." The conference was broadcast live simultaneously at home and abroad, attracting over 3,000 online viewers, thereby achieving widespread dissemination and sharing of academic results.



In the opening address, Chen Min, Dean of the School of Computer Science and Engineering, introduced the basic profile, institutional positioning, and achievements of HNIT, as well as the recent work carried out by the School of Computer Science and Engineering in the field of artificial intelligence.


The conference featured three keynote reports, two scholar reports, and multiple oral presentations in paper workshops, covering various hot directions in AI and remote sensing.


During the conference, three renowned experts delivered keynote presentations: Yu Kegen, Distinguished Professor at China University of Mining and Technology Li Zhengqiang, Professor at the Aerospace Information Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars), and Zhuang Xiahai, Professor at the School of Data Science, Fudan University.


Prof. Xing Xuemin from Changsha University of Science and Technology and Associate Prof. Li Yang from the Beijing Institute of Space Machinery and Electricity delivered academic reports as invited guests.


During the Dean's Forum segment, moderated by Chen Min, Prof. Fan Wenjie from the Institute of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems at Peking University, Liu Hui, Executive Dean of the Europe-China Institute of Medical Artificial Intelligence at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Wan Yaping, Dean of the School of Computer Science at University of South China, and Li Jianqi, Dean of the Graduate School at Hunan University of Arts and Science, answered questions and provided guidance for young scholars in an interview format.


The conference received submissions from over 150 experts, scholars, and industry elites from world-renowned research institutes, higher education institutions, and enterprises, including Peking University, the National University of Defense Technology, the University of Bremen in Germany, and the University of Lille in France. Awards such as the Best Academic Pioneer Award and Best Paper Award were selected and certificates were presented. Hunan Institute of Technology was honored with the Host Institution Contribution Award.


This international academic conference hosted by our university received strong support from numerous universities, research institutes, and enterprises. It promoted interdisciplinary integration and collaborative innovation, fully aligned with the university's positioning of coordinated multi-disciplinary development, provided intellectual support for local industrial upgrading and sustainable socioeconomic development, and further propelled the university toward becoming a high-level application-oriented university with distinctive characteristics.
