Recently, the Education and Examination Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced the Shortlist of Implementing Units for the Special Action Plan for Talent Cultivation in Key Fields of the Electronic Information Industry. Hunan Institute of Technology was successfully selected as one of the first batch of cultivation and implementation units for the Demonstration Base of Industry-Education Integration.

The plan was launched by the Education and Examination Center of the MIIT under the guidance and support of the Department of Electronic Information and the Department of Personnel and Education of the MIIT, as well as the National Steering Committee for Teaching Electronic Information Disciplines in Higher Education Institutions of the Ministry of Education and the National Steering Committee for Vocational Education and Teaching in Industry and Information Technology. The initiative aims to cultivate high-level technical talents for the electronic information industry, to promote the organic integration of the industrial chain, education chain, talent chain, and innovation chain, and to establish a collaborative talent cultivation ecosystem where industry, academia, research, and application mutually reinforce one another, providing robust talent support for advancing new industrialization.

Following a rigorous nationwide selection process—including institutional application, expert review, on-site inspection, and remote defense—a total of 154 colleges and universities were selected across the country. Among them, 13 institutions will explore new models of serving local industries through talent cultivation and evaluation by establishing public training bases for industry-talent integration; 141 institutions will explore new models combining education and training by constructing demonstration bases for industry-education integration. The School of Electrical and Information Engineering led the application for HNIT, which successfully secured its spot for the construction of a demonstration base for industry-education integration.

The School of Electrical and Information Engineering has long been dedicated to talent cultivation and innovative research in the field of electronic information. The School will seize this opportunity to focus on cultivating high-quality engineering and technical talent. It will delve deeper into key electronic information fields, strengthen cooperation and exchange with the industry, promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, actively explore new talent cultivation models, solidly advance platform construction, and effectively enhance the cultivation quality of electronic information talents at our university.
