From June 11 to June 18, 2024, at the invitation of four universities including Ivanovo State Power University of Russia and Belarusian National Technical University, Cao Zhiling, Party Secretary of our university, led a delegation to Russia and Belarus for working visits.
Secretary Cao Zhiling held talks with university leaders including Grigory Vasilyevich Ledukhovsky, Rector of Ivanovo State Power University; Evgeniya Vasilievna Satalkina, Head of the International Education Department of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University; Andrey Pavlovich Shevchik, Rector of St. Petersburg State Technical University; and Nikolaychik Yuri Alexandrovich, Vice Rector of Belarusian National Technical University. The delegation also visited the teaching and research laboratories of these institutions. Fruitful exchanges and important consensus were reached on undergraduate cooperative education, joint postgraduate training, collaborative research, faculty visits, and student exchanges.
During the exchange meeting with Ivanovo State Power University, a congratulatory letter from Lyudmila Vladislavovna Dmitrieva, First Deputy Governor of Ivanovo Oblast, was delivered, warmly welcoming the delegation from Hunan Institute of Technology and expressing high expectations for the cooperative education program between the two universities. At the meeting, both sides discussed the previously applied undergraduate cooperative education program and expressed their commitment to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation, expand the scope of collaboration, and jointly cultivate application-oriented technical talents.
In the exchange symposiums with each university, Secretary Cao Zhiling introduced the distinctive features and advantages of our university. He noted that China-Russia relations are a "comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era," and China-Belarus relations are an "all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership." Cooperation with prestigious universities in Russia and Belarus is a key initiative for our university to pursue open education and enhance its international standing. It is also a mission to respond to national strategies and promote joint talent cultivation with universities along the Belt and Road in fields such as energy and power, mechanical engineering, and materials engineering. He expressed the hope that this visit would serve as an opportunity to deepen and solidify cooperation between our university and these institutions, jointly advancing talent development and scientific research.
The delegation included Lu Xiuling, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Zhao Shaoping, Director of the Finance Department; Hu Hong, Dean of the School of Safety and Management Engineering; Wu Yuanzhi, Dean of the School of Intelligent Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering; and He Xi, Deputy Dean of the School of Electrical and Information Engineering.
